Check out our first underwater video. It was taken in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This was on a reef that was full of baby sea creatures and many stingrays!
So this weekend we were out scouting out locations for Lobster Mini Season. We saw the most curious thing, a lobster and Green Moray Eel under the same ledge. The Moray would nibble on the Lobster’s antennas if he got too close but it was a an interesting combination to witness.
In January of this year my husband and I went to explore at the Blue Heron Bridge, after seeing many wonderful pictures from this location at the South Florida Underwater Society meetings. This particular location is an inter-coastal dive that can only be safely dove during ’slack tide’ (30 minutes prior to high tide). During this time the water is very clear at the bridge. This location is know for its odd critters such as batfish, blennies, sea horses and octopus. This location is a great “beach dive”, probably one of the easiest ones in South Florida. Next weekend we are doing a special night dive at this location off of a chartered boat. I am very excited to see what quirky critters we see!
So I broke down this week and ordered the new Canon G10 after reading many reviews. I look forward to it arriving so that I can go test it out in my next dive. If anyone has any tips or feedback from their G10 purchase please let me know your thoughts!
Recently during the week of October 6th I spent my honeymoon diving in St.Lucia. We arrived to Sandals Grande, St. Lucia with little to no expectations about what the diving would be like since we had not found much information on the internet about diving in St. Lucia. One of the reasons we choose to stay at Sandals was that they included all the diving you wanted with your all inclusive stay. Well needless to say we experienced some of the best diving we had ever seen. The beauty of diving in St. Lucia is that it is realitively new there. The reefs are in great condition and seem untouched. There are not tons of dive boats going out everyday and at least the Sandals Dive Masters are very clear about not touching anything and mantaining the reef in its glorious condition. Being a regular Florida diver I found the coral life and piton walls to be impressive.
